Here are some brush cleaning tips that every artists should make into a habit.
1. Keep paint off the ferrule by dipping the brush only up to the bristles. It can be tough to remove wet paint from the ferrule and even tougher if it dries.
2. Store the brush upright on the handle to dry to avoid any unwanted damage to the bristles. Leaving a brush soaking in water for too long can also be bad for the bristles.
3. Don’t use water while painting with Oil Colours. With these colours, always use Distilled Turpentine to clean or dip your brushes.
