Brushes are an extension of any painter. Taking good care of these tools can extend their life expectancy, save you money, and even make it easier to create quality works of art.
The best thing you can do for your brush is to never let paint dry on it. It will last a lot longer when you don't need to scrub colour off it. That being said, letting a brush soak for too long can harm the quality of the brush and even warp the wood handle.
Most of all, be gentle. Try not to be too rough when you're painting as well as when you're cleaning the brush.
