Bigger question is where do thoughts come from? Are they really created by us? Or are they just signals received? Like how Robots are programmed to follow instructions sent remotely through signals. Free will could just be choosing which signal to act on. When mental capacity of choosing correctly fails, dark thoughts can take one to dark places and actions.

Very dark and haunting. Generally thoughts are manageable with a little wisdom and support from friends and family. When thoughts become such dark and haunting, mental institution is required.
