The action and tension in the scene of your artwork is expressed really well ! Commendable colour composition! But here's the catch from my side as your fellow artist friend is that you could try to keep a sketchbook handy and just practice some quick figure studies of different characters of human and animals for better flow and dynamics to your painting

Beautiful painting. You have nicely created the hustle and bustle of race with chaotic painting - dust flying behind. Man and buffalo in perfect position of running. Behind people watching.
