Camlin Studio at KidZania, Mumbai
Inauguration of Camlin Art & Craft Studio @ KidZania was a grand gala show attended by who’s who of the company and KidZania. The Chairman emeritus, Mr. Subhash Dandekar, Chairman, Mr. Dilip Dandekar, Vice Chairman Mr. KOKUYO CAMLIN PRINCIPALS’ DAY Shriram Dandekar, Executive Director Mr. Nobuchika Doi, CEO Mr. A. Srikanth and CMO Mr. Saumitra Prasad as well as many other high level officials of the company attended the ceremony held in the auditorium at KidZania.
A presentation talked about the linage of both the organization was shown to the audience and KidZania Anthem was played to open the ceremony. The CEO of Kokuyo Camlin Limited was presented with the ceremonial key of KidZania as a welcome to this wonderful world of kid citizens.
The dignitaries then walked to the studio and cut the ribbon to mark the opening of this first-of-its-kind studio in the country for the enrichment of young citizens. This studio would further strengthen the company’s objective of “Making the learning fun”.
The visitors were waiting impatiently to enter the studio and have fun with the exciting Camel range of colors and Camlin stationery. They barely allowed the cutting of ribbon and entered the studio as if were waiting for it forever. The photographers had a tough time? You bet!
Camlin Studio at KidZania, Delhi
Kokuyo Camlin’s initial launch of their Camlin Art & Craft Studio at KidZania, Mumbai, met with tremendous success. Following the overwhelming response, the stationery giant has recreated the same experience for the children around Delhi and the NCR with the launch of Camlin Art & Craft and Painting Studio at KidZania at Noida. The event was inaugurated by actress Divya Seth.
School children from Delhi and NCR now have access to a first-of-its-kind studio that brings in a colourful world of paints and stationery set within this global indoor educational theme park.
Saumitra Prasad, Chief Marketing Officer, Kokuyo Camlin Ltd, who attended the event, had this to say on the occasion, “The studio has been created to instil love for colour and craftwork in children. Our aim is to encourage children to harness their creativity and love for art at a very early age. We hope that we will continue to install the importance of art among the children and make learning fun which is the philosophy of Kokuyo Camlin.”
The event was also attended by Mr. Takeo Iguchi (Director), Ms. Shilpa Kulkarni (GPM), and various other officials from Kokuyo Camlin.
The Camlin Art & Craft and Painting Studio is designed to offer children a variety of interesting activities that range from cloth bags painting, designing and personalizing notebook covers, creating wall hangings using geometric figures, mask and finger puppet making and so much more
Camlin has started conducting KOKUYO CAMLIN PRINCIPALS’ DAY from 2015 in order to recognize and celebrate the very important person in the education system, the Principal of the school. Principals are leader, motivator, guide, academician, and manager of the school and a key position.
The 2nd KOKUYO CAMLIN PRINCIPALS’ DAY was celebrated in KidZania and Principals from schools in Mumbai were invited for it. The ceremony was chaired by the Colorman of the nation, Mr. Subhash Dandekar, Chairman emeritus of KOKUYO CAMLIN and the special guest of honour was the well-known actor, Ms. Sonali Kulkarni. The guests were welcomed by the CMO of KOKUYO CAMLIN Mr. Saumitra Prasad.
Mr. Dandekar appreciated the principals for their important role in the nation building and urged them to cultivate the positive values among the students. Ms. Sonali Kulkarni, recalled her school day and remembered the role played by her principal and Camlin in her life. She was highly appreciative of the Principals and KOKUYO CAMLIN for honoring principals.
A presentation on 3-D printing by imaginarium and an app to connect the educators and parents by genie. There was a special presentation on BALA (Building as Teaching Aid) by Ms. Jichkar from Nagpur. All the Principals enjoyed the ambiance and hospitality of KidZania as well as the enriching content of the workshop. Ms. Sonali Kulkarni visited the studio and relived the childhood days by trying her hands at the project of the day.
Kokuyo Camlin and KidZania together celebrated the National Day of Teachers on 5th September 2015. The handpicked art educators from the schools across Mumbai who had excelled in creating a credible art experience for their students were invited for the ceremony to honor teachers on this day to commemorate Teachers, who impart knowledge and open the world’s window for the child.
The educators enjoyed the ambiance of KidZania and had fun at the studio. They liked the idea of using colours in fun situation and enjoyed the project themselves. All the art educators were presented with gifts for their contribution and Kokuyo Camlin team complimented them for their role in Nation Building.
The National Day of Children is very important for KidZania and Camlin both as they are the brands of and for children, hence the day was celebrated with a lot of pomp in KidZania. The winners of the contest ran by the Camlin studio were invited to celebrate the day along with the famous celebrity and Bollywood actor Ms. Pooja Bedi.
She was so excited to be inKidZania and be among all the children that she recalled her own childhood. She gave away prizes to winners and talked about EidZania and Camlin’s important role in making children able and good human being.
She remembered having used many Camel products during her growing-up years and her children also using them. She was very excited to visit the studio and create the project. She found the whole experience very nostalgic and complimented KidZania and Camlin to let her relive her childhood on the Children’s Day.
Sharing the Wishes
KidZania Mumbai, a Global Indoor Theme park that inspires, educates and empowers kids, helping them understand and manage their world better, culminated their variety programme –Sharing Wishes, which rung in the Christmas season on a merry note. During this 15-day event, the streets of KidZania were transformed into a sparkling Christmas delight for the visitors to have a truly joyful experience. Sharing Wishes also encouraged the spirit of sharing wherein the Kokuyo Camlin contributed various little gifts of stationery, colours and books to NGO kids, embodying the true spirit of Yuletide cheer.
World Art Day – world’s longest canvas.
World Art Day is celebrated throughout the world on 15th April each year. Since the last couple of years, Kokuyo Camlin Limited is taking part and contributing their bit towards this initiative.
In the past, Camlin painted trams in Kolkata, and last year, created the World’s Longest Canvas painting on the theme – Swacch Bharat. This event was held at IES School, Navi Mumbai and had a participation of around 1600 school children, parents and artists, and art students.
The 7.6 km painted canvas was put to good use this year when, with the assistance of tailoring students of Industrial Training Institute, Vangaon (Tarapur), it was converted into dry waste garbage bags.
The ‘Arty Bin Bags’ will be used to dispose dry and recyclable waste in schools and housing colonies. They were distributed to children that visited the Camlin Art & Craft Studio on 15th April 2016
