Kokuyo Camlin conducted a major tree plantation drive with the aid of 129 BN Eco Task Force (ETF) of Territorial Army, along with students on National Teacher’s Day, at the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. Teacher’s Day was specially chosen to show a heartfelt gratitude to the teaching community and celebrate their spirit of selfless and unconditional contribution.
This plantation drive was inaugurated by Ms. Sushma Chauhan (IAS, District Development Commissioner of Samba, Jammu). She planted tree saplings as well and thanked the students, 129 BN Eco Task Force of Territorial Army and Kokuyo Camlin for their thoughtful contribution.
This tree plantation ceremony was attended by students from schools all over Jammu and Samba region. They came together to plant saplings as a dedication to their teachers. A competition was also held, where in the students were asked to write down a few lines on how the saplings are correlated to a teacher. The teachers participated as well, making the event even more successful. During this tree plantation project, Kokuyo Camlin encouraged the participants by providing refreshments and gift hampers for the winners.
Our event was also attended by prominent guests such as Brigadier J S Budhwar, Colonel Nandu Kumar BN CO, Colonel V S Yadav, Lieutenant Colonel Sanjeev Thakur, Major Aijaz Ahmed Dar Adjt and Mr. Arun Manhas, ADC Samba.
The event received dedicated participation from over 5,500 students, about 300 teachers in over 550 locations, all over Samba District. Over 5000 saplings were planted, thus rendering the tree plantation drive on Teachers day, a success!
