An artist has many options that they can draw inspiration from, starting from nature and people to beautifully designed buildings and houses – all can be a part of a neat landscape with lots of interesting imagery.
Silhouettes bring uniqueness to a picture, whether they are captured on camera or through a brush. Through this article, you will learn how to paint a silhouette with brush pens. Here, we decided to draw inspiration from the picture of a baby.

What you will need:
Camlin Artist Brush Pens
Water colour paper
Painting brush
An iPad with a picture of someone/Printout of the picture
Camlin pencil
Here are your steps to learn how to paint a silhouette with brush pens:
Step 1: Trace it
Place your water colour paper on the iPad or the printout of the picture you want to paint and trace it lightly with a pencil. If you are using an iPad, you can always increase the brightness to be able to see the on the tracing paper clearly. Once you do set up your brightness to comfortable setting, trace away!

Step 2: Blending palette
Before you colour, it is wise to check what colour combinations you would like to use and what colours look good blended together. So, experiment with the colours on a separate sheet of paper.

Step 3: Start painting
Here, the paper has been dampened before colouring only in he areas where the artist wanted the colour to be. This is called the wet technique. To implement this technique, simply dip your brush in some water and dab the areas in the painting you picked to be coloured with it. Next, start colouring using your Camlin Artist brush pens as shown in the images below.

Step 4: The outlines
Once your painting dries, make sure to rub off the outlines that you drew using a pencil with an eraser. Draw the outline lightly with your Camlin Artist brush pen of the same colour instead to give it a definite shape, if it is missing anywhere in your painting.

Once this dries off, your painting is ready!
