1. What is the best thing about being an artist?
Being an Artist is the way to being positively sensitive.

2. When did you decide to come into the art world? Who inspired you?
I was an artist since the age of four. None but God inspired me.

3. Tell us something about your art education and early career?
I graduated with Drawing & Painting as one of the subjects along with all the literatures i.e. Hindi, Sanskrit and English.

4. You are also a teacher; how much do you enjoy it?
I was teaching for a long time in Kendriya Vidyalaya. Truly Speaking, I had to create conclusive conditions to enjoy teaching.

5. Was it easy to continue the creative journey?
Creativity was not acquired; in fact I was born with a creative attitude. So it has always been pleasant to remain creative throughout.

6. Which is your favourite medium?
Water Colour and Acrylics have been my favourite medium, of course!

7. What inspires you?
The things around me and the life that I have lived are the regular sources of inspiration for me.

8. How do you manage to work across a variety of mediums?
Different mediums get managed in a natural way. You must know that I’m also an established and famous poet. Painting and Writing are complimentary for me. These two streams may seem different, but to me, they belong to one domain and that is creativity.

9. Can you give us some examples of the messages you have tried to convey through your paintings?
I paint and write for my pleasure. I don’t convey any messages knowingly but it is conveyed as a result of my interaction with the surroundings that I have to live in. The series of paintings “Metrocity” and “Space and Vision” are concrete examples.

10. Your works are generally abstract? Do you paint in some other genre also?
My work, apart from being abstract, depict certain forms and many a time the figures in my style. My sketches are always figurative.

11. Who is your favourite artist; Indian or International?
My favourites are Old Masters of the Renaissance. I like Hussain.

12. If you were not an artist, what would you be?
I was destined to be an Artist (Painter) and Poet. So, there is no question of not being so.

13. Who is your current favourite out of the young artists?
The young generation is very creative. It is difficult to name one.

14. What would you like to say to the young artist? Especially to the ones who could not study art in the organized manner, but still want to pursue art seriously.
The Artists of the young world are very creative and exposed to the entire world through the internet. They are well-informed. Even if they don’t receive the formal education in art they can pursue art in a professional way.
