4 Sweet and Simple DIY Father’s Day Gifts


Father’s Day is just around the corner; it’s the perfect time to show your dad how much he’s loved and appreciated. Instead of buying him a watch or a cool gadget, a DIY gift comes straight from the heart and makes a better gift for the man who has dedicated a large portion of his life to caring for you. So here are some simple and sweet DIY gifts you can make him for Father’s Day.

1. Father’s Day Photo Frame

What you need:

  1. A photo frame,
  2. Camlin Krafty White glue, and
  3. Your favourite photograph of you and your dad.

How to make it:

  1. Use your own handmade art – paper butterflies, flowers etc. and stick them on the frame with some glue for a personalised look.
  2. Draw or cut out the words ‘World’s Best Dad’ or anything else you may like, and stick to on the frame.
  3. When it’s dry, slip your selected photograph in place and you’re done.

2. Stationery Holder

What you need:

  1. Two or three empty metal/ plastic containers,
  2. Camlin Artists’ Poster Colours,
  3. Chart paper,
  4. Camlin Krafty Glue and
  5. Binder clips

How to make it:

  1. Cut out strips of colourful chart paper and stick it around all the containers with the glue.
  2. Paint some designs or patterns on the chart paper. You can also paint your dad’s favourite phrases or a special message from you to him to make it more personal.
  3. Once the containers are dry, use binder clips to fix them together, and your stationery holder is ready for use.

What you need:

  1. A plain coloured mug (preferably white),
  2. Camlin Artists’ Acrylic Colours and brushes or Camlin’s Permanent Markers

How to make it:

  1. Make sure the mug is dry.
  2. Use the Colours or the markers to create fun and interesting designs on the cup.
  3. You can also use stencils to paint the mug or to write a message on it.
  4. Allow the mug to dry (overnight)
  5. If you plan to use several colours, allow the first coat of paint to dry before applying the next.

4.  Painted T-shirt

What you need:

  1. A plain, single colour T-shirt
  2. Camlin Fabrica 3D colours or Fabrica Paints.

How to make it:

  1. Ensure the T-shirt is wrinkle free.
  2. In the centre of the T-shirt paint the letters “World’s Greatest Dad”
  3. Create designs all around the lettering
  4. Leave it overnight to dry
  5. For multiple colours let each coat of paint dry before adding the next.
